She has worked with the market on numerous occasions over the years and we are excited to have her join our board. Naomi has a very strong interest in building community relationships and further aligning all the downtown businesses and events. Thomas is in his third year of serving as the President of the Board for the Vancouver Farmers Market. Outside of his service to the market, Thomas is a business and estate attorney at NW Legacy Law Center, P.S., located on historic Officers Row. He is a lifelong resident of Vancouver where he lives with his wife and two children. His family has been enjoying the market since he was a child, and now his children love coming to the market. Fun fact: his kids’ favorite vendor is Patty’s Kettle Corn. When not practicing law or working with the market, Thomas is active outdoors with running, skiing, biking, and kite boarding.
Thomas originally served as a lawyer for the market, and later resigned that position in favor of serving and providing leadership on the board. In his time with the market, he is proud to have witnessed the market’s vendors and staff continually improve the market for the community, including recent addition of the east side market and revitalization of the Slocum House. The market has also undergone a critical shift in the past few years from a volunteer run organization to now being run by a professional staff.

Joe is currently Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer at Riverview Community Bank. Joe has been serving on our Agriculture Committee for a number of years and has been a tremendous asset there. Joe hails from Guam where he not only began his banking career, but spent time on his family’s farm and developed a love for small farms and local food. Joe has a long history in finance and is a great resource to the board in that regard. He also has a strong dedication to the community and has served on numerous non-profit boards in the Portland Metro area. His experience in non-profit governance and with other successful boards of directors will be instrumental in the continued growth and development of the Vancouver Farmers Market.
River Wave Foods has been part of the Vancouver Farmer’s Market since 2009. Rebecca, owner of River Wave Foods, is a resident of Clark County and has enjoyed watching the Vancouver Farmer’s Market evolve and grow into a real center piece for Vancouver’s downtown. 2017 is her second year on the board. This new level of involvement has increased Rebecca’s appreciation for all the hours of hard work from the dedicated managers of the market, members of the community, vendors and volunteers that make this vibrant market continue to develop and flourish.
