The Farmers Market is the BEST!!!!!! I've been going since it first opened in 1989 and I was a child. I am now an adult and LOVE taking my daughter to the market. It has organic fruits and veggies, yummy food to eat, and great local artists and crafts. It is the best in ALL!!!!

I attend the Vancouver Farmers Market on almost a weekly basis. There are always so many different people, vendors, and entertainment down there. I always have such a fun time looking at all of the things people bring down every weekend. There's always beautiful fresh flowers, fruits and vegetables. And a really awesome vendor that my boyfriend and I buy our dog "pupcakes" from every weekend.

There is a wide variety of products available at the Vancouver Farmers Market, as well as a wide variety of vendors. The vendors are super friendly, and provide quality produce and products. In the seven years we've been patrons, we've had only one unacceptable product, and the vendor gladly refunded our money. Best of all, it's a 'small-town' atmosphere. It genuinely deserves to be Farmers Market of the Year!

This is a delightful market ... just big enough to be interesting and diverse, yet small enough to navigate and easily enjoy. Our local folks and the visitors they bring are friendly, polite and fun to share the venue with. And to top it all off, we have good parking facilities as well as loads of on-street parking ... AND, TaDa ... Ester Short Park on the boundary for beauty and a lovely playground!

We can't let individual farms and the families who work and own them die. They need our support because the large agro-business interest is trying very hard to take their share of the market too. It is a pleasure to eat fruit and vegetables that have taste. It is wonderful to observe the "American salad bowl" working at the market; the Hmong families with the flowers, the Mexican farmers with their fruit and vegetables, the food vendors from Russia, Croatia, Eastern Europe, etc. also the local artists coming from varied backgrounds. It's a great market. There are vendors from both east and west side of the Cascade Mountains. As the season progresses, there is an abundance of fresh produce. Right now the cherries are coming in. There also the occasional meat vendors. I bought some lamb and talked with the farmer. The sheep are raised on pasture. There are aslo some baked goods and lots of flowers. In the spring, there are lots of nursery plants available. Theare are also craft products. And, of course, food booths, including one offering New Orleans food, such as gumbo and catfish. Local bands also play, and it is located next to a park downtown Vancouver.

Clean, welcoming and convenient with plenty parking. The wide variety of produce and plants is much appreciated. Located next to our downtown Ester Short park makes for extra-special weekends when the City has organized other events – taking on an almost fair-like energy; other times, a great place to relax on a blanket under one of the massive shade trees. Limiting participation to NW area producers and restricting reseller-vendors maintains that local ambiance and quality on offer. My favorite entertainment, though, is observing the diversity and interaction of dogs with masters in tow. Always an enjoyable visit.

Great place to get really fresh produce, like English peas. Only one vendor had them and I was so happy to be able to get some. Also, some of the most talented merchants can be found there from the musicians to the "butterfly wings" folk to natural cosmetic makers from up the Columbia River. They have wonderful produce. My two year old loves to play on the playground with his Daddy, while I get the chance to shop the local produce. The prduce is at a great price often better prices then we can get in the big chain stores. By buying from the local grower everyone wins. We cut down on the emission gases by no shipping. The Farmes get the revenue which keeps the money local. And I can get a product that I know is good for my family.

I have cleared calendars to put this market at the top of the list every Sat or Sun. when I visit my parents. The fact it is dog friendly is a great treat for dog owners. Great Latte's at the red coffee wagon. The variety of produce is delicious, local and fresh. The vendors of handmade goods are excellent - friendly and present a product worth the price.The vendors who sell artisan bread and other food goods are definately worth visiting. The food vendors are fantastic - mini donuts, funnelcakes, strawberry shortcake, pia, fish&chips, teriyaki, mexican food,fresh lemonade, gumbo and more. The aroma floats through the air and since the market sits next to the park it gives families time at the playground and rose garden. Lastly the area has good bathrooms

My family and I took our first trip to the farmers market last weekend and it was amazing. The food was so good you could eat it straight from your basket and they had a wonderful recycled art fair going on. I introduced the beautiful,lively Vanc Farmers Market to my very special friend (& now my husband),who is from Richmond,Va two yrs ago (I even introduced him to our mayor for the Couve's 150th Bday celebration at the town square park where the market is located.We enjoy trying the various foods,purchasing garden-plant starts as well as fresh harvests and just hanging out with the locals and visitors alike in a relaxing but clean,friendly environment.I have lived on the east coast for 2 yrs now,but each time we come back home to visit family & friends we plan a stop at the farmers market,where anyone can come & enjoy a day of food,music and fun.We are fortunate in our work to be free to live anywhere in the United States and plan to relocate to the area as soon as our Richmond,Va condo sells ~i'd trade it for a town-square condo and farmers market livelihood right outside my door any day!Looking forward to many enjoyable years to come at Vancouver Farmers Market.Attached is a photo from the Labor Day Wkend 2007 trip for the towns' 150th Bday & our 1st visit to Vancouver Farmers Market.Enjoy,*Jennifer (DALTON) Grubbs:)

Vendors are varied and so GREAT !!! The whole atmosphere is pure delight and I go every weekend (when I am in town). Not to big, just right size and also like all the live music around the area. Hopefully, it is a boost to the other retailers in that area. Of course being next door to the FABULOUS Esther Short Park sure doesn't hurt, ha ! LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful area of town, but you don't feel like it's the city; great outting with kid due to the nearby park; love watching the people/pet combo's!; delicious and affordable food from the local area. Gorgeous flowers!!!

They have the only chicken Tamales my daughter will eat! My daughters love the Hawaiian Shave Ice! We enjoy buying the produce & Artisan cinnamon bread to toast. The homeade potato chips are really good & fresh lemonade. :)

walking distance, great flowers, easy to buy fruit and vegetables (and food and fudge) in small quantities for a single person, lovely park, all the pets that accompany their owners, entertainment on stage plus people watching.

Great little market in a vintage town square. The vendors are exellent and the number of members keeps growing every season. The Columbia River walkway is nearby as well as downtown Vancouver shops and restaurants. Very fun atmosphere and nice people too! What more can one ask for?!!!

There are several reasons. 1. The location makes it easily accessible, attractive, and it's easy to navigate among the vendors because of the intelligent layout. 2. The selection offered by the vendors is broad, and 3. The quality of goods and services provided high. 4. It's not easy to become a vendor; the stardards are rigorous. 5. I have been going to the VFM for years, and I love the fact that it is small town and still actaully has real famers!!! The diversity of the people and their wares is great. It also doesn't hurt that they still allow dogs in the market which adds to its charm. The food vendors rock too!!!!

The greatest place to be on a Saturday and Sunday. The Market is the heart of this historic city in downtown Vancouver. The vendors are great, the food delicious, the nursery items perfect to take home and plant and the produce beyond comparison. The art and crafts vendors keep you coming back for more even as the produce dwindles at the end of the season...The Market is the first place our out of town visitors want to head when they come to enjoy Vancouver, and with the festivities at Esther Short Park, the water feature, the entertainment--The Vancouver Farmer's Market has something for everyone (including the kids and the family dog (on a leash of course).
